How change happens
Theory of Change
Every dollar invested in More Than A Smile Foundation moves through a deliberate pathway — from community resources and lived-experience leadership to thriving, self-determined youth and families. This page makes that pathway visible.
Why a theory of change matters
Funders and partners deserve to understand exactly how their investment translates into community impact. Our theory of change is not a marketing document — it is the logic that shapes every program decision, partnership, and resource allocation we make.
Rooted in community, not assumption
Our model is built on lived-experience leadership. The staff, volunteers, and board members who design and deliver our programs are themselves members of the immigrant and refugee communities we serve — which means our theory of change reflects real barriers and real pathways, not outside assumptions.
